A Dra. Blättner estudou em Berlim e Munique e, depois de se formar em 1988, ela montou e administrou sua própria clínica de pequenos animais. Em seguida, ela concluiu um curso de pós-graduação em training (formação) e coaching (treinamento) na University of Linz, Áustria, antes de fundar a Vetkom, uma empresa internacional dedicada à educação de médicos-veterinários e técnicos veterinários sobre gestão de clínicas, comunicação com os clientes, marketing e outros tópicos relacionados por meio de palestras, seminários e treinamentos internos. Além de ser editora de dois periódicos veterinários, ela trabalha juntamente com a Royal Canin no treinamento de médicos-veterinários em mais de 20 países diferentes.
