Dr. Stern earned his veterinary degree from The Ohio State University in 2008, where he also undertook a small animal rotating internship. He then completed a cardiology residency at North Carolina State University and earned his PhD at Washington State University in cardiac genetics. He is currently Professor of Cardiology and Associate Dean for Veterinary Medical Center Operations at the UCD Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. His main areas of interest are in cardiac genetics and cardiac pharmacogenomics, with a particular focus on the role of individualized medicine in veterinary cardiology patients.
